We are a thriving global fintech company, profitable and experiencing rapid expansion. Currently, we are seeking an individual to spearhead our growth in the modern financial services sector, particularly in North America. As part of our US-based team, you will assume full responsibility for establishing and guiding our Fintech sales division. Your role will involve cultivating and converting leads from our extensive pipeline of fintech opportunities at Ascenda, while also identifying fresh targets poised to leverage our premium rewards offering.


Join our dynamic sales force as one of our early team members, contributing to the development of our marketing and sales strategies as we strive for hyper-growth. Our team spans 20 cities worldwide, with dual headquarters in Singapore and Seattle with a total of 200+ team members.

Join us as a Commercial Lead (Levels: Senior Director / Director depending on experience)

You report to Ascenda’s Head of Sales and help shape our sales playbook while producing new rewards solutions revenue for the business.

You’ll help evolve how we sell by developing a deep understanding of the rewards industry, identifying customers’ biggest pain points and educating them on how Ascenda can help unlock massive growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapidly grow Ascenda’s customer footprint across North America by cultivating and closing new opportunities with financial institutions and fintechs looking to launch rewards.

  • Develop a deep understanding of sales prospects’ goals and capabilities to co-create rewards solutions that drive a step change in customer acquisition, engagement and retention.

  • Build deep relationships with c-suite decision makers from our bank and fintech prospects and become trusted advisors to inform their loyalty strategy.

  • Shepherd prospects through our sales cycle including prospecting, discovery, demos, solution consultation, commercial negotiation, contracting and implementation.

  • Synthesize your learnings in the field to help us improve our consultative sales process and train other sales reps on best practices

  • Help inform Ascenda’s Product team roadmap by pattern-matching needs & pain points you observe in prospect discussions.

What you bring to the table

A track record for exceptional performance in a constantly changing, ambiguous environment, and problem-solving leadership with limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have experience and measurable success selling complex solutions to multiple senior stakeholders in financial services organizations.

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years of experience in top-tier consulting and B2B SaaS sales.

  • Experience in premium rewards and loyalty programs, with a deep understanding of key trends, challenges, and opportunities. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful loyalty programs, driving customer acquisition and retention.

  • Proven track record in consultative sales and business development to this specific buying persona: senior financial services & fintech leaders (c-suite, head of consumer/corporate credit products, credit cards, lending, payments, banking, etc.) in the US market.

  • Historical success taking a consultative sales approach to deeply understand the needs of prospects across different financial services verticals (consumer banking, corporate banking, credit cards, insurance, etc.) and their end users to pitch compelling solutions to their biggest problems.

  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of rewards & loyalty strategies in the context of financial services. In particular, the use of rewards as an incentive engine to drive valued behaviors and the rewards economics underlying these programs.

  • Willingness to go beyond just closing the deal and hitting targets. Focused on how to best address customers biggest needs in order to develop a long-term relationship.

  • Strong bias for action and genuine curiosity to help our customers achieve their goals.

  • An inclination for numbers and being data-driven. A lot of this role will rely on analysis of the data the market is giving us, and how that could help us better our process.

  • Prior experience as a senior operator in a product, strategy or marketing role in financial services is preferred.
