Join us as Vice President - Strategic Clients Group

Take on an exciting senior leadership role heading Ascenda’s Strategic Clients Group, with global ownership of account management and new business development for large top-tier financial services clients.

Leading a team of account managers and dedicated client-funded resources, you will own & build Ascenda’s most strategic relationships across markets, with a special emphasis on Australia / New Zealand, Asia and Middle East. You will establish relationships with senior client stakeholders, develop strategies to grow these accounts, and negotiate large new deals with major brands.

You will be instrumental in growing Ascenda’s biggest client relationships and winning major new business, with a broad entrepreneurial remit to lead discussions, negotiate win-win outcomes and resolve everyday challenges.


Requirements

As the Vice-President and Head of the Strategic Client Group you will:

  • Lead and build Ascenda’s largest client relationships, ensuring that resources are well deployed to achieve key objectives with each client

  • Win large new strategic clients for the company, driving the end-to-end business development cycle from initial sales discussions to negotiating contracts and supporting the technical integration

  • Optimise the large client onboarding experience and product lifecycle

  • Build relationships with senior decision makers and functional leaders in the client organizations to understand trends and strategies to build your influence

  • Drive the growth of each client relationship with annual and quarterly account plans for marketing initiatives and product suite expansion, creating transparency and momentum

  • Collaborate across all Ascenda functions (product, project, technology, creative, operations) to ensure effective execution of the account growth plans

  • Lead business reviews with senior management teams both internally and with clients

  • Represent client feedback within Ascenda to inform the product roadmap and technology innovation strategy

  • Resolve client escalations and ensure Ascenda compliance with client agreements

  • Provide strong people leadership and coaching to your cross-functional team



What you bring to the table:

You are an entrepreneurial client management and business development professional looking to take broad ownership across a portfolio of enterprise relationships. You are curious, you love making things happen and are excited by the fast pace of a high-growth technology company environment.

You are adept at building relationships, owning and developing accounts at senior level, crafting win-win commercial outcomes, and collaborating across the entire functional spectrum (client management, marketing, creative & design, operations, product management, and technology) to get things done.



What we are looking for:

  • 15+ years of experience with coverage of enterprise client management and business development

  • Experience working either within major retail banks or card issuers, or managing relationships with those companies

  • A solid understanding of customer engagement & loyalty strategies, of the global payments and retail banking landscape, and of digital marketing

  • Proven ability to establish and manage enterprise relationships at senior level and across cultures, driving win-win commercial outcomes

  • A business development mindset to identify and pitch new strategic opportunities along with the drive to follow through and execute them quickly

  • The ability to think strategically, understand the needs of clients and their consumers to present solutions & initiative concepts that meet their objectives and create mutual commercial benefit

  • Demonstrated project management skills to ensure a fast pace of execution

  • A leader and team player that can engage in rigorous debate and drive consensus towards well-informed, expeditious decisions

  • Exceptional written and oral communications and native-level English fluency

  • A growth mindset, sense of urgency and strong appetite to drive impact

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
